The Everly Brothers Park – a former Design Center project – in the Bearden neighborhood of Knoxville was recently added to the Tennessee Music Pathways. The Pathways is a program operated by the State Department of Tourist Development that highlights musical heritage across our state with signage at important locations. The Everly Brothers are credited by numerous musical legends such as Bob Dylan and Dolly Parton and being an inspiration to them and for being pioneers in Rock ‘N Roll. The brothers went for a time to West High School in Bearden, not far from the Park.
You can read more about the dedication of the Pathways signage in this Knox News article and you can read about our involvement with the project here. Special thanks to Rachel Ritter, ASLA, and Garry Menendez, ASLA, who were our project volunteers at the time!
We’re honored to see an ETCDC project gain such recognition and are proud to have been part of turning a former gas-station site into a park dedicated to such musical giants!
