What Is Membership?

Becoming an ETCDC Member is a meaningful way to show your support for the Design Center's mission and long-term success. ETCDC relies on community support in order to continue tackling new projects that improve our East Tennessee communities. As a nonprofit, ETCDC is funded entirely by donations and grants, meaning your financial support is critical for the Design Center's ability to grow and succeed.

But joining as a Member isn't solely about financial support. Each membership, regardless of level, represents a person or group committed to improving access to quality design and planning in East Tennessee. As our member base grows, so does our ability to demonstrate the importance of intentional design and planning to community leaders, organizations, and other stakeholders.

Members of all levels receive the following benefits:
  • Our monthly newsletter
  • Your name listed on our website (listing remains on website for 2 years)
  • Invitation to our 2025 Annual Members' Meeting
  • Early access to some ETCDC publications
  • Invitation to our annual Celebration of Design
Please take a look at the chart below to view the additional benefits associated with each Membership level:
HOW IS MEMBERSHIP DIFFERENT FROM SPONSORSHIP?

Each year, ETCDC engages in two main fundraising campaigns: the Membership campaign, and the Celebration of Design event campaign (which includes Sponsorships and event ticket purchases). Both are great ways to support the Design Center's mission!

The primary difference is that Sponsorships are associated with ETCDC's annual Celebration of Design. This means that in general, the benefits offered by ETCDC for a Sponsorship are linked to that specific event (e.g., your company's name or logo listed in the event program, tickets to the event, etc.).

Membership benefits last throughout each calendar year and are not linked to a specific event. For example, all Members receive our monthly newsletter, their names listed on our website for two years, and their names listed in our in our end-of-year publications. Members above the Design level also receive their name/logo included in each monthly newsletter, as well as access to any special programs and events hosted throughout the year.

Many supporters opt for both Membership and Sponsorship, some opt for Membership only, and some for Sponsorship only. We are grateful to each and every one of our donors for their belief in and dedication to the Design Center's goal of making East Tennessee a better place to live and work by design.

If you have additional questions regarding Membership, please reach out to our Membership and Sponsorship Coordinator, Cam Coppala.
