Membership
What Is Membership?
Our members are our valued partners in sustaining the mission of the East Tennessee Community Design Center: "To Envision, Inspire, and Improve East Tennessee through Design." Their support forms the sturdy foundation for our operations, ensuring the Design Center can continue to provide quality design and planning services to communities in need.
While it's true that our members' financial contributions are key to sustaining our mission, joining as a member means far more than solely providing financial support. Each membership, at every level, represents a person or group committed to improving access to quality design and planning in East Tennessee. As our membership grows, so does our voice. Together, we can demonstrate to community leaders, partner organizations, and local stakeholders the importance of intentional design and planning.
Membership Levels and Benefits
Membership levels range from $50 all the way to $10,000 per year. Memberships expire at the end of each calendar year. Click the drop-down boxes below--or take a look at the Membership Benefits chart, also below--to see the benefits conferred at each membership level.

The East Tennessee Community Design Center is a qualified 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Contributions made to ETCDC (including Membership donations) are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
By default, ETCDC provides donors with a contribution statement for tax purposes. This contribution statement acts as a receipt for your donation and documents the donation amount, donation type, and any value you received in return for your contribution. Please consult with your financial advisor concerning the tax implications of your donation.
Each year, ETCDC engages in two main fundraising campaigns: the Membership campaign, and the Celebration of Design Sponsorship campaign. Both are great ways to support the Design Center's work!
Our Members are our community partners: they are the sturdy foundation supporting ETCDC's operations, ensuring the sustainability of the Design Center's mission. Membership benefits last throughout each calendar year and are not associated with a specific event. For example, all Members receive our monthly newsletter, their names listed on our website for two years, and an ETCDC logo sticker.
The focus of our Sponsorship campaign is facilitating the growth and expansion of the Design Center, helping us to broaden our outreach and strengthen our community impact. Unlike Memberships, Sponsorships are associated with ETCDC's annual Celebration of Design event. This means that in general, the benefits offered by ETCDC for a Sponsorship are linked to that specific event (for example, your company's name or logo listed in the event program, tickets to the event, etc.).
Many supporters opt for both Membership and Sponsorship, some opt for Membership only, and some for Sponsorship only. We are grateful to each and every one of our donors for their belief in and dedication to the Design Center's goal of making East Tennessee a better place to live and work by design.
If you have additional questions regarding Membership, please reach out to our Membership and Sponsorship Coordinator, Cam Coppala.
ETCDC membership cycles are based on the calendar year. Membership renewals generally occur around the start of each calendar year, regardless of your current membership's month of purchase. Memberships purchased in October, November, or December are applied to the following calendar year (unless otherwise requested by the donor). Many members choose renew at the end of the current year for the next year's membership.
ETCDC also offers automatic annual membership renewal. This effortless option allows you to ensure your ongoing support without the hassle of remembering to renew each year. For more information, see the "Automatic Renewal" section at the bottom of our 2026 Membership Registration form. This section is where you can opt in or out of automatic membership renewal, as well as specify an end date for your automatic renewal (if opted in).
