ETCDC partnered with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to create a sustainable plan for the future development of Pittman Center. This master plan would preserve the community’s mountain heritage, the scenic and natural assets, and their networks of family and social relationships. 

The design team analyzed the existing area and developed guidelines to ensure that all future development would contribute to the values embraced by the people of the area.  The sketches and renderings illustrate the recommended concepts. The design tools used sustainable planning concepts such as clustering developments to preserve green space, ridgetop protection, and watershed protection.
