Knoxville College is a historically Black college established in 1875.

The ETCDC has assisted Knoxville College with campus master plans and historic building assessments several times over the past 40 years.

The beginning of a long involvement between the ETCDC and Knoxville College, a historically Black college established in 1875 by the United Presbyterian Church of North America, was started under the leadership of volunteer adviser Mike Fowler, ASLA.  Mr. Fowler utilized his site planning class at the University of Tennessee School of Architecture to assist with long-range plans for the college campus and historic buildings. The ETCDC has been involved with many subsequent projects with Knoxville College ranging from developing campus master plans and individual building assessments to determine which to preserve based on new and existing programs and curricula to help perpetuate the school.
