ETCDC developed a long range plan for the Third Creek Greenway.

Third Creek Greenway is part of an 18 mile Greenway system from Bearden Village to the University of Tn campus.

Knoxville’s first major greenway was already in need of reconstruction. The ETCDC with volunteer adviser George Criss developed a plan dealing with the issues surrounding Third Creek and trail access. A longer-range plan was developed for future connection and expansion of the trail that has led to the 5.3 miles of trails that are part of an 18-mile greenway system that begins in Bearden on Forest Park Blvd and winds southeast along the shoreline of Third Creek before connecting to the Neyland Greenway.
