The downtown Knoxville YWCA will soon be capable of expanding its programs and renovating the existing building, thanks to a large donation. The building, now nearly a century old, is the location of a program which helps to house women that have ‘fallen on hard times’ and aids them in restarting their lives. In 2009 the ETCDC partnered with Christina Geros, AIA, then of BarberMcMurry Architects, to develop a plan for the renovation of the building, located at 420 West Clinch Avenue.
